It's the most wonderful time of the year!
No, not Christmas.
SUMMER! Ever since my oldest son has been able to mutter the dreaded "I'm bored", I have had a summer bucket list. So this is our 6th annual summer of fun! When we first started this tradition I was teaching full time during the school year. I longed for summers "off" (all my teacher friends know that it's not really a "vacation" so much as a lay-off, and you're probably prepping for next year anyway...). I wanted to cram as much fun stuff in with my kid(s) as I could, because there wasn't much time for that during the school year. In the beginning it was a rather short list. Toddlers are easily amused :) Plus I wasn't dealing with the constant bickering that occurs when siblings are left to their own devices. Now that my kids are 4, 6, and 8.... I like to keep them busy! And without further ado.... the list!
If you've been following me or if we've been friends for awhile, you may notice that many of these are repeated year after year. TIP- you don't have to re-invent the wheel! My kids look forward to this list and beg for certain things to be included year after year.
On first glance, this may seem overwhelming. Like OMG this chick is some crazy mom, when does she sleep/breathe/eat?!? Here are some important points to know:
So if you need us this summer, this is what we'll be up to! Do you have a summer bucket list? What's on it? Share your ideas in the comments! And stay tuned... soon I'll be posting my OWN summer of 2016 list! Momma has to take time for herself, set her own goals, and have some FUN, too!
