The couple that sweats together stays together! Ok, that's not a guarantee. But studies show that couples who work out together have a stronger emotional and physical bond, They are more satisfied in their relationship and are in general HAPPIER. Sweet deal, right? So with the year's largest holiday devoted to LOVE approaching, what do you say we skip the traditional dinner & a movie and get up & moving! Here are a few active date ideas to try out with your sweetheart: 1. Skating
Hit the ice together! Sure to conjure up some laughs and since it's so cold you may need to cuddle up after to warm up. Or kick it old school and lace up some roller skates! 2. Snowshoeing or Hiking Depending on the weather where you live, get the appropriate footwear on and hit the trails. Snowshoes are often available to rent for a small fee, so don't feel you need to make a big investment. 3. Sledding or Tobogganing Not just for kids my friends! It's a blast speeding down the hill, and then working your quads as you trek back up the hill! 4. Laser Tag Let's be honest, shooting each other can be kind of therapeutic. In a loving sort of way of course. Find a local laser tag center and work up a sweat chasing each other. None nearby? Hit up the toy aisle, grab some Nerf guns, and have your own battle at home! 5. Jump Around Trampoline parks are all the rage right now. Go bounce with your beau and act like kids again! 6. "Love is like a mountain... Hard to climb, but once you get to the top the view is beautiful." (Tuttle) So maybe climbing an actual mountain is out, but you can always try an indoor climbing center. 7. Recipe for Love Ok, this isn't really an active date, but find a new healthy recipe to try out and make it together! Working in the kitchen together can be a great time for honest conversations, and if you're like my husband- butt grabbing. 8. Dancing Feet It takes two to tango! Hit up a trendy club or find some country line-dancing. Take ballroom or salsa dance lessons. Not ready to take your moves out in public? Throw on Just Dance or Cize in the comfort and privacy of your own home. 9. Hit the Slopes Spend a day skiing or snowboarding. If nothing else, imagine the quiet time together on the chair lift, aaaaaah. 10. In it for the long haul? If your relationship is in it to win it, think about starting an at home workout program together (shoot me an email for my recommendations!) or training for a 5k or bike race together. You'll have scheduled dates together almost every day and working out with your partner is extremely motivating. Don't forget- a nice massage, whirlpool bath, hot shower, etc. after any of the above *wink wink nudge nudge* Any more fun date ideas to add to the list? Drop a comment below!
